Felicia Tripp has been an academic counselor since 2009, working at multiple Bay Area community colleges: Laney, Merritt, and Chabot College. Ms. Tripp originally hails from Detroit, MI and followed her passion for creativity and diversity (and the sun!) to the SF Bay Area in 1999. Ms. Tripp earned her Bachelors in Spanish/English and her Masters in Teaching at the University of Michigan and her Masters in Counseling at San Francisco State. Ms. Tripp has 16+ years working in higher education in the roles of academic counselor, instructor, career advisor, and life coach for college students. Ms. Tripp has experience working with a diverse group of students ranging from TRIO and EOPS/Next Up to Transfer and learning community students. She is passionate about social and healing justice, pursuing both inside and outside of work. While she loves supporting students working towards their goals in college, she also pursues ways to use dance, mindfulness, and nature to support healing for communities and herself. She has fun walking in nature, cooking new recipes, dancing around her living room and reading books about herbalism, magic, movement, and grief.
